The checks you should run on any contractor
Before you hire anyone, including us, three checks: a real CIDB registration you can verify, a registered company rather than a personal bank account, and completed work you can see photographed as built, not rendered. The fourth check is quieter but matters most: how the quote is written. A single lump-sum line is a blank cheque for disputes. Every Duotone quotation is itemised and explained line by line, and the scope is settled in writing before demolition starts, including what happens if we open a wall and find something unexpected.
A contractor that also designs
Duotone is a design and build company, which changes what "contractor" means for you. The usual arrangement puts a designer's drawing in one hand and a builder's interpretation in the other, with you refereeing the gap. Here the same team draws and builds, so site decisions are made by people who understood the intent from day one. When you want a contractor for work already designed elsewhere, we can price that too; we will tell you honestly whether the drawings are buildable as they stand.
What we build
- Home renovation. Kitchens, bathrooms, whole homes; by property type, see terrace house and condo renovation.
- House extensions. Rear, side and kitchen extensions, engineered and approved properly.
- Kitchen renovation. Cabinetry, worktops and the plumbing, gas and electrical behind them, under one warranty.
- Commercial fit-out. Shops, offices and F&B, delivered on business timelines.
Permits and submission plans are managed end-to-end, including coordination with third-party architect consultants where the council requires an endorsed drawing. An unapproved renovation is only cheaper until the stop-work order.

Are you a registered renovation contractor?
Yes. Duotone is CIDB registered under registration number 0120190531-SL027880 and operates as Duotone Design & Build Sdn. Bhd. (202601013575 / 1675673-U). A registered company with a registered team, not a middleman passing your job to whoever is free.
Do you give itemised quotations?
Always. Every quotation is itemised and explained line by line before you approve it, and the scope is settled in writing before construction starts. That is how hidden costs are prevented: not by promises, by paperwork you can read.
Do you subcontract the work out?
The team that designs your renovation manages and delivers the build. Specialist trades work under our supervision and our contract, so there is one company responsible to you regardless of whose hands did which task. You never have to chase a subcontractor yourself.
Do you handle renovation permits?
Yes, we manage the process end-to-end, including working permits, submission plans, and coordination with third-party architect consultants where the local council requires an endorsed drawing.
